The Isle of Man-based Rational Group, parent to online poker giant Pokerstars, has appointed a former Playtech exec to the position of chief operating officer, reporting directly to chief exec Mark Scheinburg on all issues concerning customer-facing product & back-office functions for Pokerstars & Full Tilt Poker.
Rafi Ashkenazi was until November last year COO & VP of business development at the Playtech online gambling software group, which operates the iPoker Network. He worked for the group for seven years before resigning, & was previously with the SQLink company.
Ashkenazi takes up his new responsibilities on the Isle of Man on February 1, according to a press release issued by Rational Thursday.
His duties will embrace marketing, customer support, poker room management, IT management, payment processing & security, & game integrity.
