The software provider Playtech has the best collection of arcade games in the business. The latest addition, released only this month, is the most exciting of the lot because it is based on the popular puzzle Rubik’s Cube. Rubik invented the cube in 1974 and each successive generation has taken to it. More than 350 million licensed cubes have been sold worldwide and there even exists an international body called World Cube Association. The arcade game is aptly titled Rubik’s Riches.
The player first sets his stake, which can vary from 0.20 credits to 500 credits. On activating the game three faces of the Rubik’s Cube are displayed with a random arrangement of colored cells. There are three ways to receive payouts in this Playtech arcade game. The first is line payouts. Three squares of the same color in a straight horizontal or vertical line on the same face will count as one winning line. When all the squares on the face are of the same color then there are six winning lines, three horizontal and three vertical. Therefore the three faces can result in a win on maximum 18 lines. The payouts for the line wins are shown in a table in the left of the screen. For a bet of 1 credit, these range from 0.20 credits for 1 line to 4,000 credits for 18 lines. The second method is face payouts. If all 9 squares of a face are of the same color, then the player receives a face payout in addition to the six line payouts. The payout for one face for 1 credit wagered is 5 credits, for two faces it is 20 credits and for all three faces it is 1,000 credits. Therefore the total payout for three faces with squares of the same color will amount to 5,000 credits for 1 credit wagered.
The third payout mechanism has nothing to do with the Rubik’s Cube. During each game between 0 and 6 of the letters of the word Rubik’s in the logo will light up. If all six letters light up then the bonus game is triggered. The player has to choose one of the 27 squares that are on the cube. That square will reveal a prize, which will be free spins or additional cubes. The player can keep picking squares till he reveals one that says START. The extra cubes will give players more chances to win during the free spins. The additional line and face payouts will be displayed on the screen. The free spins will begin automatically once the START is revealed. Like online slots free spins, they will be for the same stake that was placed for the original bet.
