Playtech, the publicly-quoted Israeli gaming technology provider which owns and operates the iPoker network, has seen online poker revenue fall 18 percent in full year 2012 to €17.8 million from €21.8 million in 2011.

Fourth quarter 2012 (Oct. to Dec.) poker revenues were down 27 percent to €4.0 million from €5.5 million in the same period of 20111.

This is despite (Q4/11: €5.5 million) Betclic and Everest poker products being launched on the iPoker.fr and iPoker.com networks.

Elsewhere Betfair started its migration onto the iPoker network in January 2013.

However, overall Playtech, which also operates online casino, bingo, and games, saw gross income up 26 percent to €98.8 million in 2012 from €78.4 million the previous year and

Chief executive officer of Playtech, Mor Weizer, said “The Company achieved robust organic growth and benefitted from innovative cross-selling initiatives with several major licensees. Playtech’s new product and licensee launches, together with the launch of slots in Italy, have exceeded expectations and build further on the Company’s solid growth platform.”

“I am also pleased to announce that our joint venture with Gauselmann has been awarded licenses by Schleswig Holstein for online casino and sports betting.”

“As a result of the impressive performance in Q4 and since the beginning of the year, the Board is very comfortable with market expectations for the full year and looks forward to 2013 with confidence.”
