In a mid-morning session the Department of Culture, Media & Sport Select Committee will consider oral & written evidence from a variety of interested parties on the draft Gambling (Licensing & Advertising) Bill, with two oral witnesses in Jonathan Stephens, Permanent Secretary, Department for Culture, Media & Sport, & Jenny Williams, Chief Executive, Gambling Commission.
The proceedings will be screened & can be linked to here: http://www.parliamentlive.tv/Main/Player.aspx?meetingId=12581
The written submissions of a wide range of interested parties can be viewed here:

In this second evidence session, the Committee will have the opportunity to question the Department for Culture, Media & Sport & the Gambling Commission about the specific benefits that will accrue to consumers from the Bill; the factors that led the Government to conclude that the potential benefits of the Bill for consumers outweighs the disadvantages to legitimate operators; & how the proposed legislation would help to reduce match-fixing.
